2019, April 5: "Amended petition for crossing; "as a result of concerns raised by our HDD contractors relating to the type of soils to be encountered, and the higher risk of a "frack out" which could result in an undesirable release of drilling fluids into the waters of the Lake, an engineering and environmental determination has been made to use conventional trenching methods for the Belknap Point shoreline installation, instead of HDD. Please note that the use of conventional trenching on the Welch Island shoreline was always planned and is not being altered
